Gladstone Morrison was always a good runner, with a strong interest in athletics and track. He is a Jamaican, born and raised on the island. He eventually recognized that his speed on the track could probably earn him a scholarship to a university in the United States. The opportunity to be educated in the United States proved a strong motivator—Gladstone Morrison began working even harder on the track and would eventually earn a scholarship offer in track from the University of Texas at Arlington.
The ability to get a free education because of his athletic prowess was a gift that Gladstone Morrison did not take for granted. He used this opportunity to earn a valuable degree, enrolling in the Mechanical Engineering program at the University of Texas at Arlington in 1992. He focused on giving his all, both on the track and in the classroom, so that he would make proper use of the opportunities in front of him. He graduated in 1997 with a Bachelor degree in Mechanical Engineering.
Gladston Morrison worked at ND Industries Inc. as a Quality Control Engineer for more than twenty years. He was thus extremely familiar with the requirements of the position. Gladstone Morrison was responsible for developing the Quality Management System with ISO 9001-2008 Compliance, which is still in use by ND Industries. Gladstone Morrison's commitment to excellence has helped him throughout his academic and professional careers, regardless of the difficulty of the problem in front of him.
